Robert "Rob," "Bert," Andrew McNeese, 33, of Gray Court, S.C., passed away at 3:30 a.m. EST Tuesday, Nov. 23, 2010, at Newberry County Hospital in Newberry, S.C.. Rob was born on July 4, 1977, in Decatur, Ill., the son of Jerry and Judi (Branham) McNeese.. He is survived by his mother, Judi McNeese of Gray Court, S.C.; two sons, Cody McNeese and Brandon McNeese both of Gray Court, S.C.; Brittany McNeese of Gray Court, S.C.; one brother, Shaun (Lauren) McNeese of Gray Court, S.C.; grandmother, Greta Branham of Simpsonville, S.C.; aunt, Karen Miller of Simpsonville, S.C.; niece and nephew, Brianna and Michael McNeese of New Bern, N.C.; and cousins, Michael Miller of Simpsonville, S.C., and Michael McNeese of Indianola, Ill. He was preceded in death by his father, paternal grandparents and maternal grandfather.. Rob attended New Bern High School in North Carolina. He worked as a plumber/electrician help-er.. He was a member of the Henderson Baptist Church. Rob enjoyed spending his time fishing, hunting and camping.. He also enjoyed collecting knives and guns and had his black belt in karate.. Rob's greatest love was spending time with his children.. A graveside service will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 27, at Sunset's Chapel Mausoleum, with Pastor Scott McCurdy officiating. George Alden "Al" May, 93, of Potomac died at 7:45 a.m., Wednesday, Aug. 19, 2009, at Provena United Samaritans Medical Center in Danville.Al was born July 27, 1916, in Potomac, the son to John and Ida Mae May. He married Alice J. Rouse of Oakwood on Feb. 28, 1935, in Minister C.L. Finley's home.Survivors include his wife, Alice; two sons, Daryl (Brenda) May of Belleair, Fla., and Gary May of Potomac; seven grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. He also is survived by a special nephew and his wife, Richard and Phyllis Hoskins, and friends Martin and Helen Whited. He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Eva May Hoskins; and an infant brother.Al attended Potomac schools and was a life-long member of the Illinois Carpenters Union, retiring in 1962. He also was a life-long member of the Potomac First Church of Christ.He was an avid musician, artist, woodworker, hunter and fisherman.Funeral service will be at 11 a.m., Saturday, Aug. 22, 2009, at First Church of Christ, Potomac. David Harley "Gerbil," "Pops" Griffin, 64, of Danville, passed away at 9:28 p.m. Thursday, May 30, 2013, at Presence United Samaritans Medical Center in Danville.. He was born Jan. 31, 1949, in Danville to Harley and Dorothy Ion Crose Griffin, and raised by his other father, George Crose.. He married Charlotte A. Hoffman on May 7, 1971, in Yuma, Ariz. She survives.. Also surviving are 10 children, Sherri (Butch) Vice of Ridge Farm, Cassandra Griffin of Danville, Tina (Bart Hayes) Griffin of Tilton, David A (Patty A.) Katherine "Kitty" Repasy, 99 of Danville, passed away at 2:17 p.m. on Friday, July 3, 2015, at the Hawthorne Inn of Danville.. Kitty was born Dec. 6, 1915, in Fairfield, Conn., to Joseph and Helen Jablanowska. She married Andy Joe Repasy on April 2, 1946, in Seattle, Wash. He preceded her in death on March 22, 2011, after 64 years of marriage. Kitty is survived by her four children, Matthew (Mardi) Repasy of Lawton, Okla., Thomas (Joyce) Repasy of Danville, Margaret (Dan) Diggs of Loudon, Tenn., and Helen Repasy of Alexandria, Va.; seven grandchildren, Michael Diggs, Rebecca Greenway, Deborah Repasy, Adam Repasy, Julie Traugh, Mark Repasy, and Sarah Repasy; eight great-grandchildren, Jonathan Greenway, Meaghan Greenway, Katherine Greenway, Gavin Diggs, Emily Diggs, Marissa Repasy, Olivia Hunter and Amelia Traugh, and one sister, Elizabeth Tackovich. She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, and two sisters, Sophie Lapiniski and Joan Werkheiser.. After growing up in New York City, Kitty moved to Washington, D.C. to work for the U.S. government. While in Washington, Kitty served as a hostess for the USO, where she met Andy. They were longtime residents of Alexandria, Va., and were members of St. Louis Catholic Church. Kitty also worked as an administrative assistant for Mt. Vernon-Lee Enterprises. Six years ago, Kitty and Andy moved to Danville, Andy's hometown. Thanks, Mom, for your delicious fried chicken and golumpki. Thomas E. "Hat's" Hathaway, 71, of Danville passed away at 12:20 p.m. Tuesday Oct. 7, 2008, at Carle Foundation Hospital in Urbana. He was born on April 4, 1937, in Danville, the son of Vern and May Faryan Hathaway. He married Donna Maross on June 11, 1965, in Danville. She survives.Other survivors include his son, Parker (Sandy) Hathaway of Gibson City; his daughter, Dreama (Glenn) Mueller of Woodridge; his grandchildren, Megan and Morgan Mensavage, Hannah and Haven Hathaway, and Brad Brucker; his three sisters, Barbara Curran of Mountain Home, Ark., Patricia (John) Hyche of Danville, and Mikalene (Jim) Travers of Warren Robins, Ga.; a sister-in-law, Judy (Martin) Avenatti of Chrisman. He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother.Thomas served in the National Guard for seven years. He retired from CSX, where he worked for 35 years. He was a member of the St. Mary's Catholic Church in Westville. He was also a member of the Knights of Columbus and the Sportsmen's Club in Westville. Thomas was an avid Cubs and Illini fan. He loved to play poker and enjoyed drinking coffee with his buddies at Schroeder's. He enjoyed working in his yard and making a garden. He was a loving husband, dad, and Papa.A mass of Christian burial for Thomas will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 11, 2008, at St. Mary's Parish 231 N. State St. Westville. DANVILLE - Carmen L. "Starkey" Pilkington, 95, of Danville, passed away at 1:50 a.m. Saturday, September 22, 2018, at Hawthorne Inn in Danville.She was born March 19, 1923, in Danville, Ill., to Rolland and Doris Johnson Starkey.Carmen married Mervin "Merv" Pilkington October 22, 1941, in Danville. He passed away December 13, 2011.Survivors include three daughters, Sandra Montgerard of Danville, Delynne (Bruce) Stanley of Defiance, Ohio, and Gail Villarreal of St. Joseph, Ill.; a brother, Marvin (Judy) Starkey; two sisters, Judy Swider, Nancy (Jim) Moore; nine grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son, Victor, and four brothers.Carmen retired from the Sears store in Danville after 14 years, was a life member of Jewel-White VFW Post 728 and the Women's Auxiliary. She enjoyed knitting and crocheting, was an avid reader and loved bowling. Norma "Jo" Pyle (Albert) passed into eternal rest in her home at Sedgebrook, in Lincolnshire, Ill., on April 2, 2017. Mother, wife, sister, daughter and friend to many, Jo was born in her grandmother's house in Collison, Ill. on July 10, 1930 to Estella Barkman and Fred Albert. Jo grew up in Newman and Danville with her brother, Charles Albert and her sister, Creta Belle (Arlington). A very close family, they were frequently at the farm of their maternal grandparents, Belle and Charles Barkman. She and L. Duane Pyle met as young children in grade school in Newman. While in high school, Jo was a member of Job's Daughters, a branch of the Masonic Rites - an organization for daughters of Masons. She held all the positions of leadership up to Honored Queen in the late 1940s. She graduated from Bethel Woman's College, in Hopkinsville, Ky., (closed in 1964) with an associate's degree receiving the honor of membership into the Phi Theta Kappa honor fraternity. Then, she received a bachelor's degree in psychology and sociology from Purdue University in West Lafayette, Ind. Having studied ballet and tap dance as a teen, she became very involved in the Purdue Modern Dance program while a student and participated as an alumna in its dance concerts into the 1970s. After Duane visited her in Danville where her family moved when she was in high school, they started dating. Married on July 17, 1954, they raised Jana, Robin, Eran and Devon in West Lafayette, Ind. where Duane received his PhD and was a founding faculty member of the Purdue University Department of Computer Sciences. They moved to Houston, Texas in 1971, where Duane assumed the chairmanship of the University of Houston Computer Science program. Jo lived in the Memorial Drive area from 1971 to 2015. Jo was very active in the Memorial Drive Presbyterian Church (MDPC) for almost 40 years. Jo served the MDPC Prime Timers senior adult group on their board and as their President. She created their newsletter and planned programs like tours, speakers and movies. Jo especially enjoyed planning the Spring Fashion Show, having had an interest in fashion since her twenties, when she had designed her own evening gowns. For many years, Jo took the flower orders for the church every week and made sure that flowers were delivered to members who were in the hospital or hospice care. Jo participated in Christian fellowship and women's ministry programs including "Just For Now" - to assist others with grief and life changes; and was also active in "Circle" and "Branches." She attended some Houston Presbyterian Cursillos and butterfly became a symbol for her and her family. In her later years in Houston, she sang in the Sanctuary Choir. In her 70s, Jo was also a member of the Houston Assembly of Delphians where she enjoyed preparing lectures for her group. Jo enjoyed painting modern naturalistic paintings that decorated her Houston home and would assist with her children's dance and drama clubs by painting set designs and creating costumes as a Drama Mama. All four of Jo's children continued to be actively involved in the arts, encouraged by her supporting their interests in theatre, dance, music, and art. Her home in Houston showed her amazing greenthumb. She would rescue plants from neighbors and bring them back to life. Her yard was an oasis of green with her azaleas stretching gracefully across the front of the house. Jo was a long-time employee of the former Foley's Federated department store at Memorial City. She loved to shop and outfit her daughters. Jo eventually worked in the business office for Foley's and enjoyed keeping track of financial matters. Jo's children left Houston as they went off to college and started their adult lives. Jana, Eran and Devon moved to the Midwest, where visiting relatives and friends from younger years was always an event and such a treat. Jo lost her beloved husband Duane in 1993, and in the late 1990s, became Eran's caregiver as he battled the diabetes which took his life early, in 2001. Jo and Duane enjoyed big band music and loved to dance together throughout their marriage. The family remembers them going to New Year's Eve celebrations dressed in formal attire. They eventually joined a square-dancing group at MDPC and Jo had great square dancer skirts to match Duane's shirts. They both enjoyed traveling and their early trips to London and Paris were commemorated by hanging pictures of their experiences in their home. They both welcomed the time of year to go swimming and loved the beach at South Padre Island each summer where they rented a condo for the whole family to stay and have beach fun through the summer. Jo also loved to go to Galveston and walk on the beach. Later they discovered the Yucatan which she greatly enjoyed and even parasailed over the ocean off Acapulco. She loved to do laps with her flippers on in swimming pools wherever they vacationed. The Pyle family farm, in Rockville, Ind., was Jo's special retreat. Her other travels involved going on retreats throughout southeastern Texas with her friends from MDPC. She took river trips through Europe enjoying Austria, Switzerland, and Germany. Then, Jo traveled on cruises to Alaska and Russia (Moscow to St. Petersburg) with Devon. After she went to Italy she talked to her children about how if she were younger, she would move there. Jo loved Italy; especially Rome and Florence, and the breathtaking Uffifi gallery. In 2015, Jo moved to Sedgebrook in Lincolnshire, Ill. (an active senior community) with her cat, Petey, to be closer to her daughters - Devon lives in Glencoe, Robin and Jana live in Indiana - and family in the Midwest. She found it hard to leave Houston after over 40 years. Once she got used to the community, she started getting involved in activities and sang in the Sedgebrook choir. In May 2016, she broke her hip, which was an easy recovery; but unfortunately, her mobility started to decline and began to make her frustrated with her situation. She started to slow down which did not help her heart and memory issues. Jo passed away with Devon caring for her in her apartment at Sedgebrook on Sunday, April 2, 2017. Norma Jo Pyle is survived by her sister, Creta Belle Arlington of Marion, Ind.; her half-sister, Alice Snyder and her sister-in-law, Alice Albert of Danville; her daughters, Jana Pyle of Rockville, Ind., Robin Pyle of Ellettsville, Ind. and Devon Pyle-Vowles with her husband Stephen Vowles of Glencoe, Ill. WEST LEBANON, IND. - Julie L. (Armes) Salts, age 55, of West Lebanon, Ind. died at 2:32 p.m. CDT on Wednesday, Sept. 14, 2016 at Carle Clinic Foundation Hospital in Urbana. Julie was born on Feb. 10, 1961 in Danville. She was the daughter of Alfred "Curly" and Alice L. (Kochell) Armes. She was a 1980 graduate of Seeger High School and a Warren County resident all of her life. On Jan. 1, 2000 she married James Salts. He survives.Julie worked as a collections clerk for Genpact, formerly Walgreen's. She collected fiesta ware and loved her cat, Bob. Berneice (Barnhart) Salts, 93, of Vincennes, Ind., formerly of West Lebanon, died at Lodge of the Wabash at 6:20 p.m. on Monday, July 11, 2016.Berneice was the daughter of Charles and Bertha (Burge) Barnhart. She was born in Jasper, Mich. on Jan. 7, 1923. Berneice lived in Des Moines, Iowa until the age of 10 before moving to West Lebanon, Ind. On April 26, 1941, she married Walter "Bud" A. Salts in West Lebanon in his parents' home. He preceded her in death on June 1, 2008.Berneice worked for Warren County Farm Bureau for 19 years and then was a bank teller at Central National Bank & Trust in Attica, Ind., retiring in 1984. She was a member of Trinity Presbyterian Church in West Lebanon where she sang in the church choir. She was a member of West Lebanon Friends of the Library and Warren County Historical Society. She enjoyed crafts of beadwork and quilting. She also enjoyed cooking, baking and housekeeping.Surviving are one son, Rick L. Salts (wife: Jenice) of Vincennes, Ind.; one sister, Inez Ogborn of Dundee, Fla.; one niece, Janice Reeder, Danville; five grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. TILTON - Evelyn (Beauvois) Haluska-Creighton passed away on April 19, 2016 at her home in Tilton. She was born on Feb. 16, 1933, in Oakwood. She is the daughter of Arthur and Irene Beauvois. Janet Beauvois Morgan, 85, passed this life peacefully on August 14,2023 at the home of her daughter in Evansville, Ind. surrounded by family. She was born Sept. 5, 1937 in Westville to Alex and Nellie Nagrodski Beauvois. She attended Westville grade schools and graduated from Georgetown High School in 1955. She married Willard (Wid) Morgan on Sept. 15, 1956 and they celebrated 53 years of marriage until his passing in 2009. She was also preceeded in death by her brother Don Beauvois and sister Sharon Beauvois Boland. She is survived by daughter Debra Morgan Cooper (Greg) and grand sons Morgan and Grant Cooper of Plano , Texas, and daughter Kelly Morgan Hastings (Scott) and grand daughters Alexandra of Evansville and Jory (Will Gosnell) of Edwardsville, Ill., plus 2 great grand children. Brothers Alex Beauvois (Karen) of Prospect , Ky and Richard Beauvois (Nancy) of Westville also survive.Per her wishes she was cremated and will be interred with her husband at Spring Hill Cemetary in Danville. There was rejoicing in heaven Oct. 27, 2016 at 8:18 a.m. as Mrs. Joetta (Bell) Barnard was called home to be with the Lord. She lived her life with great faith in Jesus knowing that He is the Resurrection and the Life.Joetta was born in Sidell, Ill. on Feb. 2, 1931, graduating from Hillsboro High School in 1949. Joetta was a teacher at Shawnee Learning Center, having a passion to help special needs children. Multiple exchange students found love and encouragement as she welcomed them into her home.Joetta was a member of Ladoga Christian Church where she was actively involved in ministry. She loved to travel and on a trip to Israel was blessed to be baptized in the Jordan River.Joetta married Harley Barnard June 4, 1983. She was preceded in death by Robert Leslie Bell (husband); Dorsey and Mary Moreman (parents); and three sisters. Survivors include a sister, Shirley Goff. Also to cherish her godly legacy include: Surviving along with her husband Harley are a son, Darryl (Debbie) Bell of Veedersburg; daughter, Nana (Bill) Peevler of rural Veedersburg; and a son, Don (Paula) Bell of Ft. Wayne; and stepchildren: Rhonda (Reid) Bell of Newtown, Denise (Roger) Rosentreter of Crawfordsville and Alan (Becky) Barnard of Lebanon.Eight grandchildren, five step-grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren also survive.Visitation will be held at Hillsboro Church of the Nazarene, U.S. Highway 341, Saturday from noon - 3 p.m. Oct. 29, with a celebration of life service beginning at 3 p.m. at the church with Pastor Greg McDonald officiating. Sharon Kay Allison, age 78 of Williamsport, IN, passed away at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday, July 22, 2021 at Franciscan St. Elizabeth East in Lafayette. Sharon was born on May 9, 1943 in Williamsport, IN. She was the daughter of Robert Otto Black and Annabell (Holycross) Swick. Sharon was a 1961 graduate of Williamsport High School. She married the love of her life, Eddy Wayne Allison in Rockville, IN on May 18, 2002 and he survives. Sharon worked for M.S.D. of Warren County for 17 years as a school bus driver. She had previously worked at Master Guard and Robies for a few years. Sharon was a member of the Marshfield Presbyterian Church. She was an avid bingo player. Sharon loved doing crossword puzzles in the mornings sitting on her deck and playing Bunko with her "girls." Sharon worshipped her grandchildren and tried to never miss a football game or a "queen" crowning. Even though her recliner called her name regularly, she was always up for a visit or call with friends. Janice graduated from Danville High School in 1971. She was very athletic; Janice played for the local Thomahawks Softball Team for many years, enjoyed roller skating and shot a good pool stick.Janice loved the Lord and was a faithful member of Holy Family. She enjoyed baking, swimming, reading history literature and various other novels and had green thumb. Her home was draped with beautiful vines from the floor to the ceiling. Janice was known for conversing and visiting the elderly in the community. Janice loved to cook and cater to her family and community. Janice enjoyed every moment of life, especially spending time with her grandson Camerun Jr., whom she raised, and her nieces and nephews. She began her teaching career at Covington High School in 1949 as the girls' physical education teacher. She served as sponsor of the Girls Athletic Association (GAA).During her career, Georgeanna strived to develop equal athletic opportunities for female athletes. In 1972, Georgeanna organized Covington High Schools' first volleyball team and assumed the role of the varsity volleyball coach. Georgeanna's reign as CHS varsity volleyball coach lasted a span of 15 years, until she retired from teaching in January 1987.In addition to pioneering a successful volleyball program, she also furthered the sport of volleyball by training athletes who in turn have become coaches of the sport. Some additional honors include Indiana Collegiate Girls State Association Volleyball Coaches Hall of Fame in 1999, Franklin College Athletic Hall of Fame in 2012, and Covington High School Alumni Wall of Fame in 2017.Georgeanna Ford's contribution to Covington High School and the Wabash River Conference is immeasurable. Her love of sports and competitive nature was also demonstrated in her involvement in bowling leagues, playing bridge and participating in golf throughout her life. Edwina (Brown) Dossey, 88, of Danville, passed away at 12:27 a.m. Monday, May 22, 2017. Edwina was born in Kingman, Ind., on Sept. 5, 1928, the daughter of IvaLoo Nale. On Aug. 2,1947 Edwina married the love of her life, Marvin Dossey, and they spent the next 65 years together before his passing in 2012. Frances Mildred (Burch) Millikan, 83, of Kingman, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Monday, July 10, 2017 at Union Hospital in Clinton while surrounded by her loving family. Frances was born in Danville, on July 13, 1933, to the late Frank and Hattie (Laws) Burch. Frances attended Tangier High School and on Nov. 1, 1949. She married the love of her life, Garland "Gene" Millikan, who preceded her death on Nov. 18, 2013. Together Gene and Frances owned and operated Gene's Farm Supply in Kingman for over 51 years. Frances was the back bone of Gene's Farm Supply and helped Gene in all aspects at the grain elevator, whether it was completing the paperwork or dumping the grain trucks. She was a loving mother and grandmother who adored her children and she enjoyed gardening, canning, needle work, embroidering, and spending time with her family. She was a member of the Kingman Bunco Club and attended Rockville Christian Church. She is survived by three sons, Raymond Millikan of Kingman, Paul (wife, Angie) Millikan of Hillsdale, and Jim (wife, Jennifer) of Kingman; 12 grandchildren, Scott, Mia, David, Darrin, Samantha, Brandi, Brody, Dalton, Dayci, Josh, Molly, and Morgan; 10 great-grandchildren, Jayda, Sarah, Hannah, Korbin, Jaia, Kyran, Landon, Levi, Vincent, Esther; her sister, Pat Parker; and many friends. Barbara was the secretary for the Superintendent of M.S.D. of Warren County, retiring in 1994. Barbara enjoyed quilting and bird watching. She was a wonderful cook, especially mincemeat pies. Barbara was an avid reader and enjoyed playing cards. Linda lived in the Indianapolis-Beech Grove area until she married and had resided in West Lebanon since. Linda retired from Williamsport Nursing and rehabilitation. She served 2 years as the Queen Daughter of the Nile 2005 Zorah Shrine in Terre Haute. Linda was a dedicated caregiver to her son Nicholas for 24 years. She was an avid reader, enjoyed crocheting, and loved her dogs, Chi-Chi and Apollo. Surviving with her husband, Roger, are, 1 step-daughter, Shelley Hudson (Mark) of Zionsville, IN; 1 sister, Lena M. Reva also enjoyed knitting, traveling (35 states and 12 countries) and scrapbooking. She was known for her cookies, noodles, knitting baby blankets and remembering birthdates and sending out cards. Betty was born on July 24, 1931 in Danville, IL to Everett Ellsworth Cox and Dorothy Stewart.Betty developed a lifelong love for acting and the theater at a young age when she first took acting lessons. She was passionately involved in community theater in Danville, IL and was a talented actress heavily involved in The Red Mask Players ("Red Mask") founded in 1936 by Kathryn Randolph. Betty wore many hats throughout her years with Red Mask and served as one of the directors, producers, and board members. She acted in many Red Mask productions including (but not limited to) "Sabrina Fair," "See How They Run," "First Lady," "Shop at Sly Corner," All My Sons," "Suds in Your Eyes," "Anastasia," and "The Girls in 509" with her close friends Lucinda "Cindy" Butler and Gloria Prentice. Betty was the recipient of a Red Mask Best Actress Katy award and also served as President of Red Mask , 1960-1961. While attending Danville High School, Betty was introduced to the man who would eventually become her husband, Frederick Dean Kreidler. Betty and Dean were married in Danville, IL on February 19, 1950 with best friends Lela Ford and James Goodrick serving as maid of honor and best man. In 1954, they welcomed their first child, a son, Frederick Drew "Fritz" Kreidler. Their second child, a daughter, Lucinda Beth (Kreidler) Kramer was born 16 years later in 1970. Betty and Dean lived in many places throughout their 65 years of marriage with a final relocation to Scottsdale, AZ in 1974. Betty and Dean adored Arizona and remained in Scottsdale over 40 years. While living in Scottsdale, AZ, Betty again became a part of the local theater community. She taught private and small group acting classes to a large and diverse group of Arizonans. She was not only an extremely talented actress herself, but her ability to bring out the best in those she taught and directed was unmatched. Betty became a mentor, confidant, and supporter to many of her students who remained close and loyal friends throughout her life. Many friends considered her to be like a second mother with her unique ability to listen without judgement and to cut through the "BS" and to help people see the truth in their lives. Betty also became involved in movie productions in Arizona serving in the capacity of Extras Casting Director and running Continuity on several local movie sets.Betty served in many volunteer efforts including studying humpback whales in Hawaii with the Pacific Whale Foundation, various Democratic Party campaigns, Scottsdale 2000 and The Red Cross. She was a long time Democrat and staunch believer in human rights and equality for all citizens of this world. At a young age, she taught both of her children to love all people equally regardless of race, religion, skin color, or sexual orientation. Betty was very passionate about politics and justice and their place in the world which is why it is fitting that it be mentioned here. Betty Sue Kreidler was preceded in death by her parents (Everett & Dorothy), her beloved grandmother Glenna, her grandson Zachary, and her husband (Frederick Dean). She Is survived by her children (Fritz Kreidler and Beth Kramer), her brother Sam Cox, son-in-law Tom Kramer, granddaughter Zoe ("grammy's girl"), beloved niece Karla D., numerous friends, and best friends Lela F., Barbara G., and Pam D. Some of the many individuals she held so dearly in her heart who looked up to her as a second mother and mentor are Michelle D., Hassan M., Suzie L., Robert C., and numerous others. Born in Westville, Pat was the daughter of the late Clifford and Lucille Creason. Pat worked for Peter Eckrich and Sons for 15 years before working with Job Works - Indiana Workforce Development for 22 years, retiring in 2009. She enjoyed traveling, fishing, cooking, playing cards, and going to garage sales. She loved her family and cherished her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Eunice Irene (Cronkhite) Cary, 87, of Danville, went to be with her Lord on Wednesday, July 6, 2016 after several months of declining health. She was born Feb. 10, 1929, in Rockville, Ind., to Chester and Leafy (Shutt) Cronkhite.Eunice graduated from Danville High School in 1947 and worked as a Clerk at Eisner Grocery Store. She provided child care for several families in the Danville area and was a homemaker for many years. She was a long time member of Danville First Church of the Nazarene where she enjoyed times of Bible Study and involvement in Dare to Care Ministry. Her family friends and her church all meant a great deal to her. She missed being able to be at church as her health declined.Eunice is survived by her daughters, Cheryl Ruth Albers (David) Rockvale, Tenn. and Deborah Jean Stine (Bryan) Danville; and a very special nephew, Leland Cronkhite (Bekie) Danville, who faithfully provided support and care over the past many months. Helen A. (Cronkhite) Salts, age 93 of Williamsport, IN, passed away at 3:30 a.m. on Friday, November 20, 2020. Helen was born on October 16, 1927 near West Lebanon, IN and was a lifelong Warren County resident. She was the daughter of Clarence Earl and Edna Jane (Hickman) Cronkhite. Helen attended Warren County schools. She married Richard Francis Salts on December 1, 1945 in Attica, IN and he preceded her in death August 13, 1990. Helen was a loving mother and housewife. She farmed with her husband on their family farm. Helen was a member of the Williams Chapel Church. She worked on the Warren County Election Board and the Warren County 4-H Fair Board for many years. Marilyn Faye (Curts) Ringer, age 85 of rural Williamsport, IN, was called home to be with the Lord on Monday, February 13, 2023, at Franciscan Health in Lafayette, IN. Marilyn was born on June 9, 1937 on her family's farm near rural Corydon, IN. She was the daughter of Nolan and Opal (McCullum) Curts. Marilyn was a 1954 graduate of Corydon High School. She later attended Indiana University where she met and then married Dr. William Alfred Ringer on March 16, 1956 in Mooresville, IN and he survives. From 1962 until 1964 Marilyn lived on the KI Sawyer Air Force Base in Marquette, MI where her husband was stationed. They then moved to Attica, IN from 1964 until 1971 and have lived in the Kramer and rural Williamsport area since.Marilyn was a loving mother to six beautiful children. She worked for 10 years with her husband in his medical practice.Marilyn was a member of the West Lebanon Christian Church. She enjoyed reading, antiquing, flowers, plants and birds, ice cream, gospel music, searching/collecting Native American artifacts, painting, and pets including her special dogs and cats. Marilyn especially loved walking and jogging and was an inspiration to her many children, grandchildren and great grandchildren to be active and run. She enjoyed many card games, especially playing bridge and double deck pinochle. She loved her family and when a grandchild was born, she would travel to their home to help care for them when the family arrived home from the hospital.Surviving with her husband, Dr. William A. She was the daughter of Andrew and Leticia Ann (Anderson) Davis. She graduated from West Lebanon High School in 1937. She lived in Warren County most of her life and in Williamsport since 1946. She moved to Danville in 2005 where she resided with her daughter, Sheila. Lois worked at Wisdom's Dime Store in Williamsport and then at RMC in Attica for 20 years retiring August 12, 1980. She was a member of Williamsport Christian Church and recently had been attending Second Church of Christ in Danville. She enjoyed crocheting, quilting and cross-stitching. She also enjoyed canning and gardening. Marian DeBord Day, 102, of West Lebanon, Indiana, passed away peacefully on January 30, 2024. She was born July 5, 1921 to John and Coral (Hurd) DeBord in Williamsport, Indiana. She attended Attica and Williamsport schools, graduating from Williamsport High School in 1939. On July 6, 1939 she married William F. Day. They farmed for many years in Warren County and raised four children, Ellen, John, Betty, and Bill. Marian loved to travel and visited all U.S. states (except North Dakota), Canada, and Europe. She drove to all 92 Indiana counties to photograph the courthouses and eat at hometown restaurants. She also enjoyed annual trips with her sisters, Martha Pursifull and Betty Hurley, as well as numerous trips to visit family and friends living out of state. Among Marian's more unusual experiences were temporarily serving as Road Supervisor for Warren County, Indiana, taking a hot air balloon ride on her 90th birthday, being the Grand Marshall in the West Lebanon Festival Parade, and having the Warren County Commissioners honor her by naming a county road the "Marian Day Road".Marian and Bill went to the Indiana State Fair for 19 years to participate in the Pioneer Village events. Bill carved wooden bowls and Marian helped in the pioneer kitchen. They also spent the month of October taking part in the Harvest Festival in Craftsman's Alley at Dollywood, Tennessee, for 17 years. In 1991 they were honored with an invitation to participate in the Smithsonian's Festival of American Folklife in Washington, D.C.Surviving are her children, Ellen Day of Watkinsville, Georgia, Betty Hickner of Monticello, Indiana, and Bill (Cindy) Day of West Lebanon, Indiana. She was the daughter of Cornelius and Rose (Zurawski) Dekam. She was a 1943 graduate of Kalamazoo Central High School. She married Howard Inman in State Line, Ind. on Jan. 26, 1946 and he preceded her in death on Aug. 15, 1995.Ruth worked at the jacket factory in Covington, Ind., was a rural paper carrier for the Commercial News for 6 years and was a housewife. She was a member of First Church of the Nazarene, in Danville, where she loved to go to church. She loved to read and sew. She also enjoyed playing board games and working crossword puzzles. Inman (Lynne) of Covington, Ind.; two daughters, Brenda Wright (Stephen) of Greentown, Ind. and Nancy L. She, along with her husband, owned and operated Wallpe's Grocery and Restaurant for 31 years in Dunnington, retiring in 1991.She enjoyed playing cards and watching old western shows on TV, while enjoying an afternoon co*cktail. Survivors include a son, William Wallpe of Danville; five grandchildren, Heidi Vidos, Jennifer Starrett, Fred Davis, Chris Davis and Tracy Acord; six great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren; two sisters, Annabell Lanie and Fern Ince, three sisters-in-law, Rosemary Master, Betty Pitstick and Velda Deno, as well as many nieces and nephews. Earlene Sue (Dowling) White, age 79 of West Lebanon, IN, went to be with the Lord at 9:20 p.m. EDT on Wednesday, June 9, 2021 at Carle Foundation Hospital in Urbana, IL. Earlene was born on July 9, 1941 in Hoopeston, IL. She was the daughter of Orra M. and Flossie A. (Clements) Dowling. Earlene was a 1959 graduate of Rossville High School in Rossville, IL. She married Walter W. White in Hoopeston, IL on July 2, 1961 and he preceded her in death on March 21, 2021. Earlene moved to Warren County, IN when she married and had resided there since. While living in Illinois, she worked at GE, Montgomery Ward, and the canning factory in Hoopeston. After marriage, she worked at the Attica Ledger Tribune, Hicks Plaza/Cactus Junction, the Review Republican, and for Artie Allen with Allen Associates. Earlene drove a school bus for over 30 years for M.S.D. of Warren County. Earlene was a member of the West Lebanon Church of the Nazarene. She previously served as a Sunday School Teacher, Bible Quiz teacher, and treasurer. Earlene enjoyed playing Bingo, bowling, playing cards, and mushrooming. She was an avid Indiana University basketball fan. Earlene loved taking boat rides and fishing and pontooning on the lake. She especially enjoyed being involved with her family, going to all their sports events and activities. Surviving are, 2 children, Melinda R. Potts (Larry) of rural Williamsport, IN and Mark R. Robin Faye (Downing) Keele, of Greencastle, Indiana, age 62, passed away on Friday, January 14, 2022.She is survived by her devoted husband of 44 years, Steven Charles Keele; two sons: Derek Keele, Joshua (Erica) Keele; and by three grandsons: Bronson Keele, Logan Keele, and Shane Keele. Her grandchildren cherished their "Mammo," and she loved and nurtured them with all her heart and strength. Robin is also survived by her siblings, L. Keith Downing and Debra "Debbie" (Downing) Hughes, a step-brother, Mike Nelson, and her aunt Belva (Downing) Elliot. Robin was preceded in death by her parents, step-mother [Helen (Nelson) Downing], and three step-siblings (Bill, Pam, and Sue).Robin was born March 16, 1959, in Danville, Illinois to Oscar and Lola (Schlensker) Downing. She graduated from Danville High School. She met her future husband and soul-mate, Steven, son of Kenton and Janis (Hollowell) Keele, in Perrysville, Indiana and they were rarely apart after that. They were married in June, 1977, and were looking forward to celebrating 45 years of marriage in June, 2022.Robin loved spending time with her family, pets, friends, and church family. She was loved by all who knew her and loved them in return. Robin took after her father and found joy in being outdoors, watching the wild birds that came to visit her many bird feeders, and gardening, especially with the help of her grandsons. She had a life-long passion for reading and enjoyed getting lost in a good novel. Robin loved her church family at Lifespring Christian Church, and had many close friends that will miss her dearly. Her kind spirit, sense of humor, and infectious laugh are treasures that none who knew her will forget.Robin was an incredibly loyal friend, and was fortunate to meet her dear, life-long friend, Deborah "Deb" (Riesland) Nance in Kindergarten. She loved her sons and daughter-in-law, Erica, fiercely and poured her wisdom and love into her relationship with them and her grandsons every day, despite any pain or suffering she may have endured. Robin was a pancreatic cancer survivor and a strong, determined woman who fought to stay with her loved ones to the very end. Bobbie E. (Draper) Brownfield, age 55, of Tangier, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Feb. 21, 2017. She was born in Galesburg, Ill. on Aug. 26, 1961 to Fred Draper and the late Cora (Chaney) Corbin.She graduated from Lafayette Jeff High School and on March 17, 1979 she married the love of her life, Kenny Brownfield, who survives. She was a loving housewife and mother and a member of the Marshall Federated Church. She enjoyed playing bingo, mushrooming, being outdoors, and loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She is survived by her husband, Kenny, of Tangier; son, Levi (Brooke) Brownfield of Veedersburg; daughter, Brandy Brownfield of Tangier; many sisters; one brother; and two grandchildren, Luke and Hannah. LaVerne Frieda (Drews) Patterson left her earthly life at 12:30 a.m. on Feb. 25, 2016, to start her eternal life with her Heavenly Father. A couple of years ago she said, "I love God so much." She is now with her Heavenly Father who loves her so much. She just turned 84 years old and was born in the month of February to William and Friedericka Graening Drews in Danville. She was raised in Danville with her two older brothers, Eugene and Earl Drews. She was a lifelong member of Trinity Lutheran Church, attened Trinity Lutheran School through eighth grade, was married there and raised her own children in this church. She was baptized and confirmed in this church due to her family's strong German heritage. She attended Danville High School and graduated in the class of 1950. She loved attending her class reunions.On July 1, 1950, she married William "Pat" Patterson and she was married to him for almost 61 years before he started his eternal life in 2011. They had three children whom she loved dearly: Jan (Dan) Thomen, Susan (Royce) Adamson, and Guy (Julia) Patterson. She also had six grandchildren: her only granddaughter, Dana Tucker Lee; and grandsons, Brock Tucker, Christopher Frazier, Cole Frazier, Jeremiah Patterson, and Zachary Patterson. She had 11 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandson. LaVerne is also survived by her sisters-in-law, Phyllis Drews, Marilyn Ruffner, and Judy Cacciatore; her nephew, Michael Drews; and niece, Lucretia Hardy.LaVerne was preceded in death by her beloved husband William "Pat" Patterson; her parents whom she loved dearly; her dearly loved brother, Earl; and her dear brother, Gene.LaVerne was a beautiful woman who loved to dress in beautiful clothes. Her favorite place to go was Chico's in Champaign. Her car knew the way! Pat and LaVerne built their home on Carleton's Dell Road in 1974. She worked right alongside her husband in building their home. LaVerne worked at as a switchboard operator at Illinois Bell, then at Morris Flamingo, and J.C. Penney in the 60's. She then went to work at Eisner's/Jewell and retired from there around 1987. She enjoyed playing golf at the Elk's and Blue Needles with her husband and her women golf buddies. She also liked to play euchre and gin rummy. Pat and LaVerne greatly enjoyed dancing together all their lives. They also enjoyed the many great vacations they took with their large group of friends to Santee, S.C. every year! After retirement they bought a winter home in Port Charlotte, Fla. and enjoyed the winters with Jim Wheeler, Audrey Thorlton and Jack and Wilma Timms. Sheila "Mickey" Ann (Ehrnwald) Stephen, age 76 of rural Williamsport, IN, passed away at 2:15 p.m. on Monday, June 13, 2022 surrounded by her loving family at Autumn Trace Senior Community in Attica where she had been a resident since March 2018. Mickey was born on May 14, 1946 in Williamsport, IN. She was the daughter of James F. and Ida Kathryn (Beckett) Ehrnwald. Mickey lived in Armstrong, IL until 7th grade when her father passed away. Her mother bought a farm in Warren County and she had resided in Warren County since. Mickey was a 1964 graduate of Seeger High School. She received her associate's degree from Indiana State University. Mickey married Dennis W. Stephen on April 9, 1967 at the Williamsport Christian Church and he survives. Mickey worked as an assistant secretary in West Lafayette Schools. She then worked at the law office for Ned & Jim McCabe until 1973. In 1973 Mickey began farming with her father-in-law, Wayne, and husband, Dennis, where she worked ground with an open tractor. She was a volunteer aide at Warren Central Elementary for many years. Mickey was a member of Hickman Heights Christian Church. She was a devout Christian who never missed church. Mickey was selfless and always gave without others knowing and would never accept anything in return.She rarely missed her boys and later grandchildren's activities. Mickey enjoyed mowing, cooking, sewing, and reading. She loved the outdoors. Mickey loved spending time in the Florida Keys with her family, especially fishing. Teri graduated from Monticello High School and then Lakeview School of Nursing in Danville. She was a licensed RN at the Danville VA for 30 years specializing in home based healthcare. DANVILLE - Suella "Sue" (Fletcher) Rennick, 80, formerly of Attica and had been residing in Danville, passed away at her residence in Bowman Estates, surrounded by her family, on Tuesday, July 19, 2016 at 12:26 p.m.Sue was born near Attica, Ind. on June 15, 1936. She was the daughter of the late Arthur Warren and Anna Marjorie (VanHook) Fletcher, Sr. Sue graduated from Veedersburg High School in 1953. She later moved to Attica and worked as the office manager for Community Investments for 35 years. Following her retirement from Community Investments, Sue worked at Wolfs Candies in Attica as a candy maker. She was a member of the V.F.W. Ladies Auxiliary Post # 3318 of Attica. During her pastime, she enjoyed making candy, doing ceramics, playing bingo and watching movies. Christmas was her favorite holiday. While living at Bowman Estates she was named Trivia Champion of Bowman Estates.On March 27, 1964, Sue married Jack Rennick in Veedersburg, Ind. He preceded her in death on Sept. 7, 2000.Sue leaves behind three daughters, Peggy Ann (Paul) Johnson, Ronnie Sue Blanton and Jackie (John) Kasprzak, all of Danville; a brother, Arthur Art (Pauletta) Fletcher, Jr., Attica; five grandchildren, Abby Meadows, Amanda (Rachel) Meadows, John Michael Kasprzak, Adam Johnson and Emily Johnson; a great-grandson, Bryar White; a very dear friend of 47 years, Wanda Lou Sichts, Lafayette, Ind. Charlene, formally of Veedersburg, Ind., passed away on Thursday, May 5, 2016, at 1:50 a.m. at Paris Health Care Center peacefully in her sleep after a long and courageous battle with Alzheimer's. Born April 13, 1937, Charlene was the daughter of the late Donald Ray and Merval (Sprouls) Gannon of Georgetown. She met the love of her life, John E. Schmit and the two were united in marriage on Dec. 21, 1957. They spent 53 loving years together until John's death on Nov. 10, 2010.Charlene had a love for horses and she spent many weekends at local horse shows with her two children. Charlene retired from Southeast Fountain School District in 1998 where she spent many years at the elementary school as a cook. Charlene and John were known as "Winter Texans" traveling to Donna, Texas each fall. They spent their summer months in Deer River, Minn. fishing. Charlene was known for her infectious laugh and loved to spend time with her children and grandchildren as well as being outdoors mowing, planting flowers and gardening.Charlene is survived by her two children, Jonna (Frank) Lowe, Ridge Farm, Jeff Schmit, Covington, Ind.; five grandchildren, Nick (Tia) Salts, Mercedes (Joshua Land) Schmit, Maverick Schmit, Drew Schmit and Isaiah Schmit; two step-grandchildren, Dixie (Bob) Morris and Randy Lowe; one great-grandchild, Matthew Land; six step-great-grandchildren, Tyler Lowe, Nicholas Speagle, Chet Speagle, Nolen Speagle, Gracie Morris and Joey Morris; and two brothers, Ronald (Bobbie) Gannon and Garry (Trish) Gannon.She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and a granddaughter, Kristen Salts.Per her wishes, Charlene was cremated. She was the daughter of the late Ollie Cullen and Pearl Gold. Laura later moved to Kentucky. On Dec. 2, 1950, Laura married J. Harold "Buck" Gaskill in Valparaiso, Ind. They later moved to Attica in 1952. He preceded her in death on Jan. 24, 1983. On May 17, 1986, Laura married Raymond "Ray" C. Carter in Chase, Ind. He survives.Laura formerly worked at Purdue University in housekeeping at Hawkins Grad House. She was a member of Bethel Community Church. She was a member and Past President of Ladies Auxiliary of the Eagles Lodge # 2596 of Attica.She leaves behind her husband, Ray Carter of 30 years; two step-sons, Randy E. She has lived the past 46 years of her life in Covington and just recently moved to Markle, Ind.While living in Covington, Judy worked for 15 years at Covington Manor Nursing Center. She worked in several capacities at the nursing center and at the time of her retirement in 1995 she was the Food Service Supervisor.She was a member of Union Christian Church, south of Covington. She enjoyed mushrooming and cooking. She enjoyed spending time with her family, especially the grandchildren. She had recently taken up barn quilting.On Aug. 2, 1960, Judy married James A. Spear in Attica. She leaves behind her husband, James of 56 years; a son, David L. Patricia "Patty" Ann (George) Grider went to be with her husband, Kenneth, on Feb. 7, 2017 at 6:49 a.m. at her home, in Danville, with her loving family and devoted friend by her side. Pat was born to Charles Weekly Jr. and Betty Bernice George November 14, 1923 in Danville, where she lived most of her life. She had a younger brother, Leo "Buddy," who died as an infant. Pat graduated from Danville High School, and went on to get a Registered Nursing Degree from Illinois Wesleyan University and also from The Lakeview College of Nursing in 1944. She served in the United States Navy as a nurse in Berkeley, Calif. She worked for over 25 years at the Danville VA Hospital, where she met the love of her life, Kenneth Ralph Grider. They were married over 60 years. They were parents to Cynthia (Cyndee) Ann Grider Davis and Timothy Leo Grider. After leaving the VA, Pat was involved with visiting nurse services, drug counseling and mental health work. She was loved by her patients and co-workers alike.Pat and Ken were active in the Elks Lodge and the Masonic Lodge. She was a Girl Scout leader for Cyndee's troop, and was also a fierce ally who supported both children in their school, extracurricular activities and diverse life choices. Pat enjoyed handicrafts, cooking, storytelling, magic and was an expert at growing African Violets as well as Calligraphy. She was an accomplished musician who played both the marimba and flute and worked for a brief period singing radio jingles for local stations. Her King George Marimba was her most cherished instrument. She collected Native American memorabilia, keychains, dolls, statuary and neighborhood kids who called her their second Mother. Patricia served her country proudly in the United States Navy as a Nurse during World War II, and was a Godly woman who attended the Churches of Christ, Methodist and other denominations in the Danville area. The Griders took family vacations yearly, and also enjoyed camping. Pat was an excellent cook and loved morel mushrooms. The Griders enjoyed eating at a local truck stop, where the wait staff called them "Ken and Barbie." Pat loved her many cats and dogs. She was a loving and nurturing mother, and a good friend to all who knew her. Her legacy grows with each historical tale told. She will be greatly missed by her family, friends and felines. Pat was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth R Grider. Constance "Connie" Marie (Goodrick) Mikel, age 77 of Covington, IN, passed away at 4:25 p.m. on August 18, 2021 at Miller's Merry Manor in Tipton, IN. Connie was born on August 23, 1943 in Williamsport, IN. She was the daughter of Richard E. and Leah Marie (Smith) Goodrick. Connie was a 1961 graduate and salutatorian of Seeger High School. She married Don Mikel on September 23, 1962 at the West Lebanon Christian Church and he survives. Connie was a legal secretary and later worked as an office manager in Danville, IL. She also worked several administration jobs in Oregon and Kentucky that always left her free to do the special mothering things for her children that she always considered her actual job. Connie was a member of the West Lebanon Christian Church where she served as the piano accompanist for many years and taught classes. She enjoyed playing piano and reading. She especially loved her family. Surviving with her husband, Don, are, 2 daughters, Angela Marie Mikel Purcell (husband: Russ) and Pamela Michelle Mikel Novack (husband: Bob) both of Noblesville, IN;6 grandchildren, Chynna, Austin, Zach, Abby, Travis, and Sayler;4 great-grandchildren, Hunter, Jackson, Liam, and Kaycen1 daughter-in-law, Katie Rigdon of Rossville, IL;1 sister-in-law, Beth Goodrick of Lafayette, IN;2 bonus step granddaughters, Ashley and Sarah Novack;Connie was preceded in death by her parents; son, Jeffrey Scott Mikel; and brother, Terry Goodrick. Mary Katherine (Grant) Wolflin, 85, of Bloomington, Ind., passed away peacefully at IU Health Hospice House in Bloomington after suffering from a stroke. She resided at Hearthstone Health Campus in Bloomington for the past two years. Mary was born on May 24, 1931 in Elizabethton, Tenn. She was the daughter of William and Maude (McQueen) Grant.Mary was a graduate of Harrison-Chilhowee Baptist Academy in Tennessee, where she was voted," Miss Chilhowee." She moved from Washington, D.C. to Evansville, Ind. where she met her husband, Charles while attending Evansville College. Charles and Mary married in October, 1952. Mary worked for three libraries (Danville, Indiana University-Bloomington, and Marion, Ind.) before retiring in 1995.Mary is survived by her three children, George Wolflin (Vicky) of Navarre, Fla., Katherine Mobley (Mark) of Bloomington, and Dr. Rosemary Wolflin (Kay) of Lebanon, Ind.; four grandsons, and five great-grandchildren, and another great-grandchild due in March, 2017 (Wolflin). She is also survived by three siblings, Harold, Jr. Sutphin, Yvonne Unger, and Joseph Sutphin; her dear Aunt Hazel Johnson; and numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews.She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles, her parents, her sister, Deloris (Grant) Healey and adopted brother, Wade Sutphin.Funeral services will be held 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 10, at The Funeral Chapel. Burial will follow at Valhalla Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends two hours prior to the service.

Mary "Darlene" (Grimes) Miller, 72, of Danville passed away at 1:40 a.m. on Tuesday, May 17, 2016, at Presence USMC, Danville. She was born Dec. 31, 1943, in Oakwood, to William and Mary Clapp Grimes. She was united in marriage to Ted Miller on June 7, 1971.She will be missed by son, Brett (Christine) Miller; stepson, Scott (Kim) Slivkoff; brothers, Walter (Nancy M.) Grimes and Bob (Nancy) Grimes; sister-in-law, Jackie (Don) Lewis; two grandchildren, Jacob and Caleb Miller; two step-grandchildren, Ryan and Eric Slivkoff; with many nieces and nephews also surviving. Darlene was preceded in death by her parents; one sister, Ruth Goodwin-Powell; and husband, Ted.Darlene was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church of Danville. She loved traveling and reading in her spare time. She loved her kids and family. On September 20, 2021, our beloved Mother, Pat Marshall, left this world to join her Father in Heaven. She had recently celebrated her 97th birthday. Rick and Lynn Marshall and John and Billie Marshall were with her at La Posada Assisted Living during her passing. Patricia Edwina (Grubb) Marshall was born August 29, 1924, in Covington, Indiana, and was the oldest of three children. Her sister, Clara Marie Muckley, and brother, Edward Grubb, have both preceded her in death. Pat's parents, King Edward and Cleo Grubb taught their three children to seek God and the value of hard work, service to others, never knowing a stranger, and honoring your family and friends. These lifelong lessons have kept the extended family very close as they continue to enjoy spending time together at events and reunions.Pat lived most of her adult life in Las Cruces, New Mexico. She was a registered nurse, graduating from Lakeview School of Nursing in Danville. She worked for a family doctor in Las Cruces from 1952 until his retirement in 1983. Pat then went to work for Sara Lee Hosiery Factory in Las Cruces as their nurse until her retirement in 1989. After retirement, she worked as a part-time nurse at New Mexico State University. Retiring for good in 1995, she volunteered countless hours at Mesilla Valley Hospice and St. James Episcopal Church.Pat also had a great love of adventure and travel and never missed an opportunity to travel even into her 90's. With family and friends, she visited all 50 states in the US and 25 countries on 4 continents around the world.Pat was a member of St. James Episcopal Church in Las Cruces and was instrumental in getting organ music back into the 8:00 am service. She is survived by her two sons and daughters-in-law, Rick and Lynn and John and Billie; four grandchildren, Jason, Brian (Lisa), Robert (Yolanda), Kimberly (Steve); 9 great-grandchildren; and her sister-in-law, Pat Grubb of Covington.Because of the pandemic, the comital of her cremains has been delayed until now. We will have a celebration of her life with a graveside funeral service at Mount Hope Cemetery in Covington on August 16th at 10:30 am followed by lunch. Mary Jane Benford, 90 of Danville, IL., died Saturday, December 10, 2022 at The Villas of Hollybrook in Danville. Born September 19, 1932 in Georgetown, IL. she was the daughter of Everett and Sarah Elizabeth (Madden) Hallett, She married William K. Wilson on June 16, 1951 and they later divorced in 1971. In 1985 she married L. James Benford, now deceased. Mary Jane leaves behind her daughters: Elizabeth (Gary) Bertels of Elmhurst and Jane Ann (Richard Jr) Stitt of Danville; a stepdaughter: Susan (Ken) Ryder of Carmel, IN; a stepson: Jim (Nancy) Benford of Carmel, IN; six grandchildren: Rebecca (Greg) Minx, Gary Bertels Jr, Joshua (Annie) Bertels, Richard Stitt III, Leslie (Erik) Thomason, and Katie (Joey) Garza; three step-grandchildren: Annabeth Ryder, William Ryder, and Michael (Courtney) Ryder; thirteen great-grandchildren: Brionna (Kurt) Minx Janetske, Caleb, Benajmin and Grace Minx, Aiden and Jillian Bertels, Karlie, Kennedy, Lanie, and Carter Thomason, Zoey, Emerson, and Emery Garza; three step great-grandchildren: Audrey and Colton Benford and Aubrey Ryder; a sister-in-law: Sandy Hallett Reynolds; and six nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters: Imogene Butikas and Alice Jeanette Hallett; three brothers: Grover, Richard, and Ronald Hallett; her husband: L. James Benford; step-father: Victor Krage; step brother-in-law and sister-in-law: LeRoy and Addie Krage; and several step nephews. Mary Jane worked at Continental Filling, Redwood Inn, and Alith Prouty for a time, however she was primarily a homemaker. She was a Brownie Leader and an active member of the PTA at Cannon School, as well as helped with Girl Scouts at Edison school. Mary Jane was active in the Danville Junior Women's Club, participating in the Follies. She enjoyed dancing, golfing, and being with friends. Mary Jane was a longtime member of Trinity Lutheran Church where she taught Sunday School. She was also a member of the American Legion Auxiliary. Audrey Louise (Handley) Trees, 87, of Danville, passed away at 9:20 a.m. Wednesday, April 20, 2016, at Colonial Manor Nursing Home in Danville. She was born, in Danville, on Nov. 12, 1928, the daughter of James and Thelma (Bremer) Handley. She married Lealan "Lee" Trees on Feb. 11, 1948, in Joliet. He preceded her in death on Aug. 9, 2010. Audrey is survived by one daughter, Rhonda J. Vinson; two sons, Gregory L. (Freida) Trees and Ronald D. (Anna) Trees, all of Danville; two daughters-in-law, Jean Trees and Tina Trees; a son-in-law, Steve Vinson; three grandchildren, Tobi (Eric) Burnett, Tash (Amy) Trees and Andrew (Heather) Trees; six great-grandchildren, Grady and Griffin Trees, Bryce and Brennan Burnett, Wade and Wyatt Trees. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Lee; one son, Keith A. Trees; one sister, Gloria (Clint) Sandusky; two brothers, Robert G. (Geraldine) Handley and James "Jim" Handley.Audrey was a graduate from Danville High School in 1947. After graduating, Audrey went to telegraphy school in Crawfordsville, Ind. and Joliet, so she could work at Western Union. She worked at General Electric for 17 years, part-time at Deutsch Bros. store and later she worked at University of Illinois; where she was the first female supervisor in the Physical Plant where she retired. Audrey was a member of Vermilion Heights Christian Church. She enjoyed cooking, sewing, embroidery, quilting, gardening and bingo. But most importantly, she enjoyed spending time with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Audrey and Lealan spent winters in Naples, Fla. for 14 years.A Celebration of Audrey's Life will begin at 12 p.m. Saturday, April 30, at Vermilion Heights Christian Church, 725 Oakwood Ave., Danville. Shirley Ann (Hankins) Nail, 70, of Oakwood, was called home to be with her Heavenly Father on Monday, Jan. 16, 2017. She was born Aug. 27, 1946, in Fountain County, Ind., to Lex and Mildred Louise (Loveall) Hankins. She graduated from Medaryville High School in 1964. She completed one year of modeling school before marrying the love of her life, John William Nail Jr. on Aug. 29, 1964 and he survives.Also surviving are two daughters: Billie Jo (David) Ellis and Michelle (Alan) Houmes; four grandchildren: Austi Grayson, Atlanta and Makyah Houmes and Brandon (Lacey) Zaayer; five great-grandchildren: Ledger, Remy, Daylin, Denim, and Dottie; three half-brothers: Larry D. (Robin) Sanders, Eldon D. "Buddy" Sanders and Jim D. Sanders; and numerous nieces and nephews, including a close nephew, Herbie. Shirley was preceded in death by her parents; her grandparents: William and Lucy Loveall, George O. and Goldie B. (Shell) Hankins; several aunts and uncles; her sister and brother-in-laws; and many special friends.Shirley was a beautiful soul with a kind heart who was loved by all who knew her. She believed in God and loved her family. She devoted her life to her family, spending time with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Her grandchildren lovingly called her Mamaw. Shirley enjoyed everything that involved her family and attended ball games and school events whenever she could. She never missed a Grandparent's Day.Shirley loved doing anything creative, including making Halloween costumes every year for her daughters. She would volunteer at their school to be a room mother, was active in the PTA, and was also a 4H leader. She enjoyed decorating cakes for family and friends, including making wedding cakes for both of her girls. Shirley loved playing games, especially cards with her card club, as well as taking bus trips with her husband and friends to Paradise Casino. Shirley loved with all her heart, always having a hug and a kiss for her family. She never knew a stranger and was always willing to lend a hand.Visitation will be on Sunday, Jan. 22 at Pape Family Funeral Home, 10 E.
