The biggest mistake committed by medical professionals. When I look back on my journey, the single most underrated skill for champions of medicine is work-life balance. Here is my advice for you:In life, you can’t dance with the devil, and juggle the demons all at once. There isn’t a balance as hard and long as you try. I have missed my fair share of dinners and events all the time. If there was a surgery or an emergency, I wanted to be there so as to not lose out on my learning or stay late to help my colleagues. But after I sat down with my family and they went around the table and shared their feelings, I found a way to make it a little better.Doing one thing at a time is not a sign of weakness. You can't be everywhere at once, and attempting to do so only leaves you scattered, a pawn in a game you can't control. The biggest screwup most people make with a lot of responsibilities facing them is they start fighting every battle at once. You can’t do that. You should not forget that it’s not about doing everything; it’s about doing one thing absolutely right. In that way, when you are with your kids and family, you are 100% with them. One step, one moment, one challenge at a time is my advice for you. In the end, it’s not about the quantity of your actions, but the quality of your resilience. #medicaleducation #medicalconference #medicalcareers #medical #medicine #life

I’ve got a secret to tell you: The moment you earned your license as a healthcare professional, you instantly became an influencer. Many of us associate that term with social media and having “followers,” but being a true influencer means more than that. It means that your words and actions make an impact on other people’s lives. They trust you and follow your recommendations. They respect you. They care about what you think. Let’s do the math: If you see an average of 8 patients per day, every 6 months (we won’t get too complex with 3-month recalls), and work 4 days per week, you influence an average of 832 different patients per year. 🤯832 humans who come to you for professional services and clinical expertise. Your specialized knowledge in preventative health and oral-systemic wellness goes a long way!We place a great deal of our attention on likes, comments, and online recognition, but let’s not forget where our biggest source of influence truly lies. As an RDH, you’re pretty amazing!I’m curious: In the time you’ve been practicing clinically, what has been your proudest moment of influence? Share in the comments! You’ll find mine in there, too! 💜🦷.....hygiene mentor, RDH growth, clinical hygiene, hygiene problems, RDH humor, career development, dental hygienist, RDH #humanrdh #dental #rdh #dentalhygiene #hygienementor #rdhlife
