If you’re familiar with the Texas Roadhouse restaurant chain then you’re likely aware of the delicious ranch they use in their recipes. I was adamant after the first time I tried the Texas Roadhouse ranch dressing that I replicate their recipe. I’m confident and delighted to say that I have successfully created a copycat version of their ranch.

I love salads but sometimes you need an extra kick that doesn’t make you feel bad for not ordering other tempting but high calorie options from their menu. The ranch is that ultimate kick that drives their salads into overdrive and why you won’t be surprised to see many people ordering these from their menu. Combining their rolls with the salad and topping it off with a margarita makes it one dreamy meal.

How To Make Texas Roadhouse Ranch

Excitement is the overwhelming feeling that comes over me when I get to order a dish that is accompanied by this tasty ranch.

Before coming up with my own copycat version I tested other recipes online that tasted absolutely nothing like the original, which was of course frustrating. I went into full experimentation mode in the kitchen and the end result is this amazing.

The key with this recipe is not to make it too liquid to produce the desired copycat results. Placing the mixture into the refrigerator is key and if you don’t get the desired results continue to keep it in the fridge for longer. We recommend placing in the fridge for 30 minutes. Follow the below and you’ll be well on your way to making this the perfect ranch dressing for any meal, including salads.

Recipe by Laura Ritterman Course: AppetizersCuisine: AmericanDifficulty: Easy

This recipe was inspired by the Texas Roadhouse Ranch Dressing that can be found accompanying their salads. Simple to make and perfect once refrigerated for 30 minutes.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup 1 mayo

  • 1/2 cup 1/2 buttermilk

  • 1.5 tbsp 1.5 garlic powder to taste

  • 1/4 tbsp 1/4 cayenne pepper to taste

  • 1 tbsp 1 cracked pepper to taste

  • 1 tbsp 1 lemon juice

  • 1 clove 1 of minced garlic

Directions

  • Set up all ingredients and place into a bowl
  • Using a whisk, stir the ingredients
  • Refrigerate for 30 minutes, allow the mixture to sit
  • Serve and enjoy

Notes

  • Feel free to change around the amounts in the ingredients to your liking. Some people like more seasoning, others a bit of zest.

Conclusion

Making this copycat texas roadhouse ranch dressing couldn’t be easier. With only 7 ingredients, you can be on your way to enjoying what has become one of my favorite ranch dressings. It even gives Wingstop ranch a run for its money and that’s a tough feat. I typically tend to not have buttermilk in the house due to the length of time it stays fresh but for this recipe it’s a necessity and really adds to the taste.

If you’ve attempted to make this yourself, let us know down below. Add other ingredients or variations? We’d love to hear. We believe this is the closest thing you’ll get to a copycat version of this recipe on the internet today. Not convinced then please help us perfect it even further.

It was good but very garlicky. Don’t get me wrong, I love garlic but it was overpowering. Could there have been a typo when you said it called for 1 1/2 Tablespoons of garlic powder? Thank you for the recipe, though. I’ll definitely be trying it again. 🙂
