Easy to make, great blend of flavors, especially since I struggle to get my husband to eat fresh tomatoes or avacado. He really liked the fresh salsa. This will be a regular dinner when we're short on time.

Delicious, super quick, easy to prepare and easy to vary- the best kind of casual meal. I made this without chicken, but one could use any kind of meat or vegetables in the topping. I substituted cotija cheese this time as I had some to use up, otherwise made as directed. Each one was quite filling. Very tasty!

I actually cheated and used can Salsa, but the black bean mix is delicious and worth doing. You can also substitute other meats.

This was great. I oven roasted a chicken breast seasoned with garlic salt, ancho chili powder, and cumin seasoning at 375 for 25 minutes, let it cool then chopped it vs. shredded it. I didn't have iceberg so I used some shredded napa cabbage instead. Omitted the water in the black beans to make it a bit thicker. Prebroiled the tortillas for 3 minutes then loaded them up with the beans/chicken/cheese. Delicious. And surprisingly filling.

Excellent and easy recipe! I made a few modifications to suit our taste and according to what I already had in the fridge. Added cilantro to the salsa (some serrano or jalapeno would be good, too) and used more as a garnish, doubled the amount of salsa used, used whole wheat flour tortillas, nearly doubled the chicken, subbed cotija cheese, and shredded cabbage instead of iceberg, and replaced the sour cream with Greek yogurt. Was able to prep all ingredients ahead of time and assembled when ready to eat. We found that one tostada with a side salad was plenty for each my husband and I, and we are fairly big eaters. Will make these again and again. Even with the cayenne was mild enough for my one-year old. Mine had to cook for more like 3 - 4 minutes to get crispy, but still couldn't ask for a quicker dinner.

Great! I used left-over grilled chicken with a dry chipotle rub, store-bought fresh salsa (skipping step 1) and substituting packaged broccoli slaw for lettuce. Yum!

This recipe was so easy and tasty. We will sometimes add left over shredded chicken to add a little more protein. We make this all the time.

Sooo good! I followed the recipe except for substituting the chicken with tilapia (pan seared it with s&p) and I toasted the tortilla on both sides for a minute or so before adding the beans, etc. Also, I didn't bother dirtying up my blender or food processor; I just mashed the beans with a fork. My adult daughters loved them. I took it for lunch the next day; didn't have any fish left, but it was just as good without it!

These were amazing. Had them without chicken since we're vegetarian. We did fry some red onion and red peppers to go with it as an extra topping, though. The salsa is absolutely delicious, especially with some coriander.

Yum. Made this for a quick weekend lunch- I omitted the chicken and added fire roasted diced green chiles instead. Super easy and tasty. Nice to have a Mexican flavored dish that isn't so heavy. I used fresh grocery store salsa and just added avocado to save time. Be sure to watch tostadas while in the broiler- they cook fast! Was fine served alone, or could serve with some lightly seasoned and sauteed red and green pepper and onions. Will definitely add into our week night rotation.

Loved these. I honestly can't think of any changes I would make to the recipe. Just make sure you keep an eye on them when you broil!

This is THE BEST RECIPE I have ever stumbled upon. My husband and I probably eat it every other week. My changes: -3/4 tsp cumin instead of 1/2 -1/4 tsp ground red pepper instead of 1/8 -no chicken (I'm a vegetarian) -no sour cream (it takes away from the dish more than it adds) Have I mentioned how amazing this recipe is? TRY IT!!

Great, quick recipe. I used black beans with jalapenos and made it with habanero lime tortillas from Trader Joe's for some extra heat. Delicious - the black bean mixture itself was pretty tasty.

This recipe was so delicious! It is truly a serving for 4 so invite friends over. Next time I will definitely broil the tortillas for a minute then continue the recipe because it was a little soggy in the middle. The black bean mixture and the fresh salsa was so refreshing. Love it!

Excellent recipe. I added cilantro to the salsa and also double the salsa amount. I felt like the extra veggies allowed me to skip a side. My toddlers had a hard time eating these so I used a glass to cut the tortillas smaller (like a biscuit). The smaller size would make good a appetizer too.

My brother said this recipe was "Out-friggin'-standing". Needless to say, he loved it. We made it exactly as directed except that we omitted the green onions. My brother and husband had it with some leftover chicken and I had it vegetarian style with just beans.

Fast, easy and delicious. We both liked very well and will make this again. Made with max cumin, think will add chilli or red pepper next time and may fold in half or roll. If you like heat, you will need to doctor the beans and salsa. I added cilantro to salsa and chopped bell pepper. Used packaged fajita chicken, think this would be yummy with taco meat, too.

Outstanding and so easy and quick to make. The salsa is especially good. I added chopped white onion and cilantro to the salsa. My husband, who is anti-tomato, even loved the salsa. I will definitely make this again. Here is my twist on the recipe: I cut the lime juice down to 1 Tablespoon and left out the water so the beans would have a thicker consistency. Also broiled the tostados for a few minute before adding the toppings to the rest of the broiling time to avoid soggy shell syndrome.
