Irish Revolut users have taken to social media on Friday afternoon to report problems they are experiencing with the banking app. Down Detector saw a spike in the number of reports that the app, as well as Google and Google News, were not working from around 2pm. Users are reporting online that the app was first of all ‘glitching’ with others unable to log into the app at all. An error message appears stating: ‘Uh-oh! Something went wrong. Please try again.’ Down Detector revealed 82% of the reported problems were in relation to difficulty in transferring funds while 12% related to online banking and 7% of reports were from people unable to log in. Similarly, Down Detector recorded a spike in reports that Google and Google News was down on Friday afternoon. Social media users took to X to vent their frustrations and raise questions with many getting a shock following the outage. One said: ‘The @revolutapp is glitching?? I am trying to move funds to my pockets and it is not appearing properly. I am freaking out.’ @RevolutApp hi, revolut isn't working for me or my partner. Is it down at the moment? There's nothing up on social media about this. I'm in Ireland Another shared: ‘It seems everyone I know can’t transfer money right now, is it down?’ A third posted: ‘Is Revolut currently down? I cannot see my stocks properly.’ What does the new Revolut savings account mean for Irish customers? A Revolut spokesperson told Extra: ‘We experienced a technical issue today with our app that impacted some of our customers. The issue was quickly identified and has now been fixed, with the app back working fully for those affected. Many of our customers were unaffected by this and all our customers’ money and data remain safe. ‘We apologise for any inconvenience caused.’ Today's top videos
