A6 TUESDAY, MAY 13, 2014 LEXINGTON HERALD-LEADER KENTUCKY.COM BETTS Michael, age 42, of Lex- ington, KY, passed away on Sunday, May 11, 2014 at at the family cottage on Harper Lake, Kimmell, IN. He was born on March 17, 1972 to John and Pat (Weeks) Betts in Chicago Heights, IL. On May 4, 2014 he married Angela Meyers. She survives. He graduated from Crete-Monee High School in 1990 and went on to ob- tain a degree from Augustana University in Rock Island, IL, with a major in English and a minor in Phi- losophy.

He had worked as a chef at the University of Ken- tucky in the catering divi- sion. He had a love for music festivals and enjoyed hiking and camping. Surviving are his wife, his parents; a daughter, Elouise Betts of Lexington, KY; mother, Holly France of Lex- ington, KY; two siblings, Da- vid (Donna) Betts of Lom- bard, IL and Steven Betts of Phoenix, AZ; two nephews, Leo and Lucas Betts. A pri- vate cremation committal will take place at Legacy Crema- tion and Remembrance Cen- ter. No public services are being planned at this time.

FRAZIER Jackie Lynn Stevenson, 56, departed this life on Thursday, May 8, 2014. Born on September 22, 1957 to the late Jackie B. Stevenson and Marlene F. Stevenson, she was preceded in death by a sister, Fredonia Martin and a nephew, David Martin. Jackie Lynn leaves to cherish her memory a son, Aaron Daniel (Kineta) Frazier; 5 grandchildren, twins Dahvon and Jahvon, Jada, Jazmine and J.T.

Frazier; grandfa- ther, Carl C. Talbert; sister, Gladys Stevenson; 4 broth- ers, Everett "Pookie" Martin, Dale (Barbara) Stevenson of Trotwood, OH, James B. ROGERS Betty 89, passed away Sun. May 10, 2014 in Lex- ington, KY. Betty was born in Muscatine County, IA on April 3, 1925 to Joshua J. and Maytie Henderson Hoskins. She lived in Muscatine most of her life, moving with Gordon to Weslaco, TX in 1994.

In 2007 Betty moved to Lexing- ton, KY in order to live clos- er to her daughter Elizabeth. Betty was married to Gordon A. Rogers on February 1, 1950 at Fort Madison, IA. She was a 50 year member of Electra Chapter of East- ern Star in Muscatine, IA. She was a member of Wesley United Methodist Church in Muscatine for 44 years, and a member of First United Methodist Church in Weslaco since 1994.

Betty attended the University of Northern Iowa and graduated from the Nursing Program of the State University of Iowa. She worked as staff nurse at numerous sites, including State Mental Hospital at Mount Pleasant, Iowa, Holly- wood Presbyterian Hospital in California, the Polio Foun- dation in Nebraska and Min- nesota, Bellevue Hospital in Muscatine and Muscatine General Hospital. She was Director of Nurses at Muscatine General Hospital from 1967-1973. She com- pleted her career as a Nurs- ing Instructor for Eastern Io- wa Community College Dis- trict, both on the Scott and the Muscatine Campus, until her retirement in 1986. She enjoyed Bible Study, reading, playing cards and spending time with family and friends.

Betty is survived by daugh- ters Barbara Masterson (Deb- bie Garibaldi), of Uhland, TX and Elizabeth (Harry) Miller of Lexington, KY; grandchil- dren, Catherine Masterson and Christopher Masterson of Texas, Theresa Rice and Douglas Newberry of Ken- tucky; step-grandchildren, Carolyn Miller of Washing- ton, Emily (Chad) Hardeman of Tennessee, Trey Miller of Kentucky; great grandchil- dren, Erin and Nathan Rice and Connor Newberry, all of Kentucky; step-great grand- children, Magnolia Miller of Washington, Ethan Miller of Kentucky and Rebecca Hardeman of Tennessee; and dear friend, Harry Master- son. She is also survived by numerous nieces and neph- ews. She was preceded in death by her husband, both parents, two sisters, one brother, and one great grandson.
